I don’t have adhd but act like I do for other medical reasons so I sometimes skip a word in the middle of the sentence, sorry about that. I have made corrections so that sentences are not so jumbled.
I’m a news junkie but you’re kidding yourself if you think staying on top of things can affect anything. Now is a good time to review reliability of news sources that you’re using, not add even more. To me it sounds like you’re about to create an enormous bubble / echo chamber where you can no longer recognise any self faults. It’s now more important than ever to see reality all of us created. Please be mindful of your mental health or you’ll end up with anxiety attacks.
The thing is that many people, myself included assumed most were dead and cannibalised by Reddit and Facebook groups. Turns out those specialised places have been running continuously on their own pace. Yeah, threads can still span hundreds of pages but in the end going through them makes you an expert on things overnight ;)
Maybe the idea behind those smaller communities is that they’d be focused on things like fishing and kite surfing. Social media that are even remotely popular have become football stadiums where people constantly need to pledge allegiance to their teams and that’s just really boring now.

I met some kids of German diplomats once at a wedding, ages ago. It was a weird bunch that I thought would be outliers because I couldn’t understand how they could be expressing so much guilt for a horrible thing their grandparents did. Yeah, remember that for sure but there’s a point where it starts to look like either a performance or a very bad case of anxiety.
Is either of those a thing? Is what Metz is doing kind of like that?
In both cases it was primarily performative for Americans but this time there will be considerable chunk of Europeans who will be looking to leave big tech for services in non-hostile countries.
NASA supercomputer reveals strange spiral structure at the edge of our solar system that we already knew of.
Non-EU folk - this website won’t open in EU because they don’t want to follow our local user privacy protections. What they’re going to do with your data? Who knows.
This is specific to a deal between AMD and Intel that goes back to the 90s. Only Intel and AMD can create somewhat modern x86 CPUs because everything is a patent minefield. They cross license their own stuff but don’t want a third competitor so the agreement is voided if either of them gets sold.
It can be commoditised but it’s hard to gain mindshare against monopolies like Facebook. It doesn’t really cost that much to run a small board / forum / chatgroup.
